During this unique Photo Retreat we will photograph day and night two of the most beautiful cities of planet Earth, Seville and Cordoba. These two cities, both Unesco heritage of mankind, encapsulate the purest essence of Andalusia, a unique region full of charm, a visual extravaganza for the photographer, full of colour, shape, mood and energy. During this Photo Retreat, we will enjoy total flexibility and the actual feeling of having a memorable Andalusian home away from home, a few meters away from the iconic Plaza de España. As usual, you will be led by Rafael himself, whose family is originally from Cordoba.

There are many ways of experiencing and photographing Seville and Cordoba, but this one will be richer and more memorable than any other you can imagine! We will be living in an actual palace of our own, right in the middle of Seville, designed by the same architect who built the Plaza de España and where the king Alfonso XII used to spend his nights when visiting Seville. What a wonderful place to spend our nights, have our wonderful meals prepared by our own chef and enjoy our own area to work on the images we make, print them and create a beautiful handmade book at the end of the Retreat!

We have chosen a very quiet period of the year to visit these two memorable cities, avoiding the crowds and still enjoying the mild and very pleasant weather that this region enjoys during the winter months. This is also the period when the orange trees start to bloom, and the sweet smell of “azahar” floods the streets!

As with all our Photo Retreats, Rafael will work every day with each participant to edit, post-process and print a curated portfolio of images made during the week. At the end of the week, Anca, who is also a professional bookmaker, will craft a handmade artist book for each participant, beautifully showcasing a curated selection of your printed photographs from this extraordinary experience.
