GARDEN OF EDEN

Come with us to the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa’s last Eden. On this trip we will stay at the two most exclusive private concessions of the whole Okavango delta, one of Africa’s best wildlife areas. This will be indeed a trip of a lifetime.

Botswana has placed strong emphasis on its deliberate “high price – low impact” policy in order to successfully preserve its fragile eco-systems and rich wildlife. This makes the country a highly sought after, truly African wildlife experience, living up to its status as the “Gem of Africa” and truly a Garden of Eden.

There are an incredible variety of great National Parks to visit, the most breathtaking being the Moremi Wildlife Reserve and the Okavango Delta, which is the world’s largest inland delta, a seasonal wetland of channels, palm lined islands and wide grassy floodplains, visible from outer space. This is where we will spend all our time, surrounded by thousands of animals in one of the most beautiful landscapes of the whole African continent.

During this photographic safari we will photograph, from land and water and in all light conditions, the abundant wildlife in the incredible landscape of the Okavango. This trip will take place in November, when the weather, sky and wildlife converge to provide some of the most photogenic conditions of the whole year.

Expect the trip of a lifetime, exploring areas where we will be alone, face to face with some of the most incredible landscapes Africa has to offer.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS TRIP

Thousands of animals all around you. The Okavango delta is considered to be one of the best places to view and photograph wildlife in the whole African continent.

Many different ecosystems rub shoulders within the Okavango Delta: open grasslands, marshlands, waterways, dry acacia and mopane woodland and flooded plains.

We will not only photograph animals, but a glorious landscape filled with amazing flora, crowned by the mighty Baobab tree, able to dwarf an elephant.

LEADERS OF THE TRIP

RAFAEL ROJAS

Rafael Rojas (Master Hasselblad 2014, MA Photography, ARPS) is a Swiss-Spanish fine art photographer, author and lecturer whose work frequently focuses on concepts like time, decay and renewal, the raw latent energy found in the landscape and the ephemeral qualities of existence. He strives to encapsulate concept, emotion and spirituality in his work.

Rafael has been involved in teaching since he was in his teens, and well before he took a camera for the first time. First helping out young students, then teaching undergrads and later on as a University lecturer. Nowadays, as a full time professional photographer, lecturer, author and creativity mentor, he deeply enjoys helping other photographers grow as artists, slow down and look at the world with different eyes.

He is the founder of the online MasterCOURSE "Photography with Intent", a unique, comprehensive and structured one year course devoted to the whole photographic process from message to print.

Rafael is also co-owner and co-director of “Platinum Press Editions”, an independent finer art photography publishing company devoted to the creation of photography books of the highest quality.

Rafael speaks English, French, Spanish, Romanian and Italian.

ANCA MINICAN

COME WITH US!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
